they say reach for the stars
i always reach higher
they say life is hard
but the devil is a lier
they say put forth your best effort
so i couldn't retire
they say good workers are worth it
so i got hired
im so focused im determined to make it
i will not let no one take it
insult my heart
because you can never break it
stomp my feelings my emotions will not hide
not in this life will you take my pride
im proud of the color of my skin
my intelligence is within
call me a nigger it will not hurt
jus show me how much of words you're worth
a word can't damge me
my character will speak for me
