Parents

From one mans mouth can flow cliches
of older times and younger days.

But men stand tall, straight and erect
as barren trees upon winters neck.

While in the shadows deep feelings lurk,
and try attempts to surface forth.

Young minds can drift on distant clouds,
and older minds just wonder how to get
upon those thought filled tails of
gossamer skirts and fairytales.

Back to the times when simple things
were shown and said, cold winter
nights while being tucked in bed.

Contentment. time, maturity have helped
me grow to say that on this bright,
and joyful special day
I love you in both every way.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
