Permanatly Sober

I ask of you a fovor,
you graciously reply,
"For you I would do anything,
in fact for you I'd die".

I ask you to take a look at life.
Just once with sober eyes.
Put down your whiskey bottle,
and stop your evil lies.

For you, my love, I'll never,
drink another drop
I know that i can do it
I know that I can stop

For you forever sober
until the day I die
Yes permanatly sober
I swear its not a lie.

Yes, permanatly sober
that is what he said
But soon there came the night
I knew we all would dread.

I watched you walking slowly
heading for the door
to spend your last five bucks
at the local liquor store

You already had a few
But said you'd be alright
But the driver didnt see you
stagger in the night

That would be the last time
we'd ever say good bye
Cause someone just like you
has sentenced you to die

Permanatly sober
they carved into a stone
permanatly sober
permantly alone

YES, Permanatly sober
that is what he said
permanetly sober
permanatly dead.

This is quite brilliant, and also very sad to the people it affects, let alone to the people the demon drink destroys. I am so sorry to learn that you wrote this about your brother, I send you my heart-felt sympathy and best wishes.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
