Play me a tune
Play me a tune
That will clasp my feet
To the beat
Of its entwirling grasp
Play me a tune
To erase the gloom
That has set upon my aging face
Play me a tune
That will tickle my heart,
A weary heart in a desert of joy.
Play me a tune
To revive once more
Those days
When like a gazelle I'd leap.
This time I long, not to leap
But to fly,
And glide o'er the place
Where at last I will rest.
Then that tune I desire
Will no more be a tire,
For in my lair, I will need
No more to admire.
That will clasp my feet
To the beat
Of its entwirling grasp
Play me a tune
To erase the gloom
That has set upon my aging face
Play me a tune
That will tickle my heart,
A weary heart in a desert of joy.
Play me a tune
To revive once more
Those days
When like a gazelle I'd leap.
This time I long, not to leap
But to fly,
And glide o'er the place
Where at last I will rest.
Then that tune I desire
Will no more be a tire,
For in my lair, I will need
No more to admire.
