I have been writing since I was 16 years old, and was fortunate to publish poetry while still in high school. I have had a 30-year career as a writer, mostly in journalism, have won newspaper association awards for my writing and been published in literary journals. I plan to post a book on the internet by the end of February. Most of my writing has been in the prose and news fields. However, poetry was my first love. Richard Brautigan described the difference between prose and poetry as the difference between a lover and an old lady. You always rely most on your old lady. Poetry is the roots that I always return to.
