When we think of a storm we think of something natural that comes to bring destruction (tornado) or to wash away things (thunderstorm). Sometimes this storm can erupt during the calmness of our day, completely taking over whatever situation we are in. In observing and getting to know Chanel, her character defined the meaning of a "Quiet Storm" in relation to the Kingdom of God. We all go through our share of feeling defeated, but it is in that "quiet" time when we are at our strongest. When we are alone, the enemy seems to be putting overtime into his work. He begins to tempt us with things that he knows we will fall for. However, we as children in Christ have a weapon of mass destruction that can ultimately bring destruction to his works. Upon issuing Chanel's spiritual name, I knew nothing about her spiritual battles (I use the word "battle" because someone in the end will be victorious). She was a quiet girl who always said that God was her first priority. I didn't know she was a praise dancer nor a poetic writer. Then I began to think, "Chanel's weapon of destruction is praise dancing and poetic writing. It is during her quiet hours when Chanel uses these weapons to bring destruction to Satan's kingdom. During her battle she draws out everything that aides her to victory, sometimes erupting as a tornado tearing up the sunken ground that the enemy has placed before her. Also her weapon can come in the form of a thunderstorm, washing away everything the enemy has spoken over her life. So today, I call you "Quiet Storm" and release you to go forth in every circumstance, knowing who you are and your authority in Christ.
