    Portrayed Through A Window

There he sits, staring through the frosted glass windows

Watching as the things that were, the things that are, and the things that will be

    Pass serenely by

Caught in the daze he watches as life unfolds

    .. ..

He sees a little boy dreaming of being a star

Standing on stage strumming his guitar

But while he feels the warmth, he no longer feels the glow

Because the boy had grown up he was no longer six years old

He will always love music, keeping it close to his heart

But he was destined for something more right from the start

    .. ..

He sees the same boy, a little older now it seems

He was taller and stronger, must have been in his teens

Hes sitting at a desk, off in his own head

Not listening to the lesson, drawing doodles instead

He looks over at a girl, now caught as he slips deeper in her eyes

When the teacher yells his name and he turns away and sighs

Like a scene from a play the picture dims from light

And another place and time replace it, the teenage boy lost from sight

    .. ..

Seeing a man now he'd moved away from home

He was restless now and fulfilled his need to roam

He is content now, doing what he needed to do

Living life in the moment not even having a clue

He smiles as he watches the last vision fade

watching his memories so vividly displayed

Your wondering now what about what will be?

life wouldn't be an adventure if you already knew your destiny

No, it certainly would not ... So many dreams laced with growing up and moving to the place where he will become what he becomes - remembering where he came from. Very enjoyable. ~Pamela

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
