    Reagan's Poem

    My Dearest Reagan

I just wanted to thank you for your picture of outer space

I assure you I will display it in a prominent place

Your talent as an artist is only a start

You have many more I know in my heart

You can accomplish anything you want in this world

Because you are much more than a average little girl

Your heart is so pure it’s plain to see

    You are beautiful and wonderful

    You mean everything to me

    Love,

    Papaw

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
