Poem Commentary

I like to think that weakness is just as temporary as strength.

Rising No More

Jagged inside with nowhere to hide,
Betrayal burning in my veins.
My redemption forever beyond reach
In a world of classic puns,
Emotional virus of a brand new strain.

I get up again...

Memory unjustly, perfectly clear,
A bay window view of my ashes
Blowing, drifting permanently away,
Into a dusty twilight where pictures
Made of past and present clashes.

I get up once more...

Drawn to a close amidst cylindrical,
Damn near comical aches and fears,
My strength resides unchecked.
I rise to my feet again and I
Throw myself again against the spear.

I lie where I've fallen.
