Sad Eyes of a Lady

Sad Eyes of a Lady

As I stare into the skies
Memories in me arise
A melancholic sight
The sad eyes
Of a lady.

Have you ever felt pain?
Have you ever sat still in the rain?
Or gazed into
The sad eyes
Of a lady?

Even brilliant flowers in May
Could not begin to drive away
That which dwelled within
The sad eyes
Of a lady.

I’ll never forgive
The person that in me once lived
Who caused happiness to fade
And
The sad, sad eyes
Of a lady.

A beutifully written poem. I hope you'll continue to write. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you, Dawn. :)

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
