    SAM

    "This is Sam. Sam-I-Am!

    That Sam-IAm, that Sam-I-Am,

I do so love that Sam-I-Am"

I love the Dr. Seuss rhyme Greem Eggs and Ham .
And each time I read it, I think of our mischievous Sam.
So, the letters of his name I'll spell for all to see
Just how mischievous and fun you've been and how special you are to me.

S is for staying at Nannie and Papa's many nights because oh boy
         did you cry!
A is for always up to something, like climbing Papa's TV antenna,
and I mean up very high.
M is for memories, like playing with matches and burning the camper
          to the ground!
U is for unique from all the others, because you sure had a sneaky way
          of getting around.
E is for energy you always seemed to have enough for all of us and
          more.
L is for the laugh you gave us on Christmas when you threw your
          cowboy outfit to the floor!

Now that you are older, a little less mischievous you have been
Except that you don't always seem to have a lot to say.
But sure do still have that sneaky Burch grin.
You've loved playing football for those Early County Bobcats, proudly wearing that #64
And I have enjoyed having those oranges delivered each year to my back door.
I can't seem to get you to realize though that those Gators are not the best.
But it's just as well, because we do afree that NASCAR's Dale Jr. is better than the rest!
I've watched you grow up quickly it seems into a handsome young man.
So keep holding your head up high and do the best in everything you can.
Always put God first no matter how hard life may seem,
The guidance and strength He'll give you will centainly put you on the winning team.
So, I'm back to where I started, of that famous Dr. Seuss rhyme.
Each time you hear or see it, just know that you too are one of a kind.
    Because....

    "This is Sam. Sam-I-Am.
    That Sam-I-Am, that Sam-I-Am,
I DO so love that Sam-I-Am!"

    Lots of love,
    Aunt Becky
