September Sun

September Sun

September sun shines soft and has something to say.

Yellow leaves and butterflies float by as if burning.

They both reflect the sunlight as they go on their way.

Like both of them the summer will not be returning.

September sun speaks sentences that only I can hear.

It speaks of remembrances lost forever in past time.

I try to recall the embraces, the smiles, those so dear.

But the hollow emptiness of the past is all I can find.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
