    Silently

    Silently

    Tonight
    My phone rang
And in your voice I escaped…

    Miles away from u far
    Far apart..

    U hurt.. I bleed
    Close, closer still
    No illusions, no pretenses
    Solo voce, solo mentis

As lovers do, and very well
    Through unrequited lover’s hell.
    (cont.)
    Though never spoken,
never said.. here expressed by what
is read. In laughter and tears, measured
    days, now turned years.

    Tonight we grow in love
    As friends…silently.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
