    Poem Commentary

Found this old poem. Written in early high school. Who knew what 8 years could do.

    Sleep Me

    Lightning strikes through the sky
A way of light, a way to die
    Thunder rolls over the earth
Each shock is a new birth

    Rain falls upon my face
Caught in time, stop the race
The wind blows over my skin
From where I am to where I've been

A new strike hits a tree
    Flames can only envelope me
The tree falls in my path
    I hear a cry, a distant laugh

All these things while I sleep
Who knew I was in so deep?
