    Sleep

As I lay here beside you
    Watching you as you sleep
Your lashes laying on your cheeks
    Not even moving
    Just resting...

Your chest moving slowly up and down
The quiet sounds of your breathing
So quiet I can hardly hear
    Gives me peace and comfort...

    My mind starts drifting slowly
    As my lashes start falling
    Gentle upon my cheeks
    Not even moving
    Just resting...

My chest moving slowly up and down
    My arms around you
As I begin to join you
    In a beautiful sleep...

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
