    Soul Checkmate

Recoil my life into an arm of abandoned thoughts.
Freedom comes to me and I am bound.

A struggle that is cast in every shadow,
    projecting my soul on life
like a movie from long ago.

    Living among the millions
and not a soul to be found.

    Blood flows through me,
    a temporary river of mortality,
rendering my human nature and releasing the notion
that there is little time to find love.

    Alone in this revelation.

    Alone on this Planet.

Thank you once again. Very kind comments.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
