    stanky feet!

     let me tell you a story
     'bout my uncle pete;
     the man had the world's
     most rotten feet!

     a scent so funky,
     it'll singe the hairs of your nose;
     at times he wore flip flops,
     revealin' his toes!

     every sunday he came over,
     to sit for a spell;
     a simple hour's visit,
     seemed like an eternity in hell!

     he'd kick off his shoes,
     folks would quickly scatter;
     he'd keep on talkin',
     like nuthin' was the matter!

     it took only a second,
     before we'd gag and cough;
     a stench so toxic,
     our parakeet's feathers fell off!

     one sunday he stopped by,
     'round a quarter of 3;
     we opened our windows,
     'though the temperature was 23!

     our dog started howlin',
     the plants began to droop;
     our whole house was smellin'
     like elephant poop!

     mom tried to keep her smile,
     dad turned three shades of blue;
     how much more can we take?
     what on earth are we to do?

     finally, dad spoke up!...
     "pete, you got to go!"
     we pushed him out the door,
     as he tumbled in the snow!

     'ol pete's passed on,
     beyond those gates in the sky;
     i hope there's plenty of odor eaters,
     in the sweet by and by!

    Some poems get funnier after a couple of pints of stout. But that's just a guess, 'cause I'm still smellin' feet. An thash jush too distractin' Harv

    Entertaining write, again full of good humor; you have a knack for writing about everyday common situations penning them to shed the light and humor...LOL

    A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
