Poem Commentary

Tell Me, Reader

Which man/woman, shall you desire to be?

Patrick

Tell Me, Muse

Tell Me, Muse

Tell Me, Muse

Would you favor, The Fool folly,
Signifies a sign of wisdom
Or
Would you rather prefer, Prometheus,
Returning with the stolen fire

Tell Me, Muse

Which man would you take?
The Fool offers peace
Prometheus offers the warmth of the fire
Which person would you hire?

Tell Me, Muse

What offering should I choose?
Wisdom or fire
A magician or a Muse
Which man, shall I desire?

I would choose the fire, because to be wise and cold, would be a sad thing. You would sit there cold, knowing too much causing you to be heavy hearted. But! I ignorance is bliss!! You can sit warmly by the fire picking your nose, totally oblivious that you are a fool. Yeah! I could do that...but I wouldn't want to know about my vacuous brain situation. and I would want a Kleenex.

your archetype might very well be an ISTJ, a thinker may be?. Anyhow, to the reader, a published poem is no other then a personal interpretation. As long as one can identify with the idea or a character in the poem, you can then own that poem.

rapace, Interesting poem with curious questions, spirited , and lively. I like the upbeat tone and conversational quality. ginga

How nice of you, the poems offers the choice for everybody to choose. It is a question that has been on my mind for quite some time. It was an exercise done with a creative writing group. the person I desire to be is the Fool (but of of course), and I am a Fool by birth according to the Tarot cards, and according to my archetypal type ENFP. I do like your poetry, you might very well be a possible Muse of poetry for me. -Rapace-raptor

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
