    The American Hero

Off he went towards the runway
    Pulling onto the driveway...
    With goodbyes kissed & exchanged
Not knowing it was the last of the collection..
    Yet memorable
Onto the fields he was deployed
To go fulfill the soldier's creed
    And solace a nation's breed
But to the reinstatement of his own soul from whence it came forth..
    For one, as they say...
Knows not what tommorrow has in store
    For him and for her
To some, he was a breadwinner and father of few...
But to her, he was more than that..
    He was...
    The American Hero!

    Cool poem

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
