    The Corporate Experience

    The money is the trap,
    baited only with finest cuisine
    Precision technique
    many years of practice
    I suppose.

But don’t you see our souls?
    We have blood.
    We have bones.
    Fear, hopes.
    We want to succeed,
    that’s why we toil.
    while we watch, our souls,
    our hearts; devoured
    in the name of efficiency.

    Inside your dream,
    I had found belief.
“ I will help you." He said,
    " Just listen to me.
    You will do great things,
All you have to do is follow
    believe.”

    So I did.
    Repeating every word he said,
    In my head,
    Burning them into my skull.

    For years I
suppressed all the questions in my head.
And I then one day, I said to myself
    "Wait a minute
    This just doesn’t make sense."

    Between the actions,
    And the words.
“Your job is safe,” he tells us
    “You are so luckily,
    Especially is today economy”

    In every meeting,
    In every cramped uncomfortable chair,
    the same message,
from, our wise man, our prophet .

    Speaking from his altar,
    his soap box.
    with his blank stare,
    Completely devoid of feeling.
    Remember now,
    what he does is always,
    opposite of what he say’s..

    Just a week ago,
One of us, made a mistake,
Not a big one, just a costly one.
10 years she had been here,
    Dedicated, loyal
    modeling clay.

Still they say we are safe,
    Pretend we are important.
The truth is we are expendable,
    There is no lease,
    Only rent..

“You all need to change” he says,
    “To wake up”
    Wake up how?
    I am not sleeping,
    I am not blind.
    I can see, what’s happening.

    Push and push,
    shove. Heave.
    Forgetting, I think
    That There is a line
    between too much,
    and too little.
    All you have to do
    is look .

    Everyday more is demanded
    less is provided,
    and the stakes get higher.
Every day we try to turn chaos
    into calm.
    Giving you gifts of perfection
    Of course from our hearts.

They have a label for it,
    when you disagree.
“You don’t have the mind set to work here,
quickly pack your things and leave!”
    Supposedly suspension.
    That’s what they always say.
Three days later comes the news.
    Final check I presume,
    replaced by another fresh sponge.
    Unquestioning,
    blinded by the rouse.

    Until one day he too
    will see the difference
    between the face he shows,
    and the mirrors image.
    The world he knows,
and the world they give him.

Wonderful poem, i love the way the words float together like a song.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
