The Dragon's Leave

Poem Commentary

I wrote this when I was 14 or 15. This was the very first poem I wrote.

The Dragon's Leave

I see the Dragons'
With their fire breath, burning wagons
Flying beside a fairy
Over the heather-covered prairie

While a young girl by the name of Mary
Sang a sorrowful song with her friend Jeri
The song breaking a mystic fog
Waking a shetland sheepdog
From its deep slumber by the bog

Giving it hope on the dark eve
With the dragons taking their sabbatical leave
Leaving the fire burning bright off the Seive

The draclings awake
While the waves break
The shells start to give way
It is a glorious day
For they will keep keep the demons at bay
You, the Green Eyes, mind your thoughts
For the pain will come in draughts

"For Dragyns and Green-eyed maidens be bound in thought!"

absolutly amazing. To be so young when you wrote this you are very insightful

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
