The Frog in the Pond

    The Frog in the Pond

    Once there was a frog

    That hops around the pond,

    From Lilies to Lilies

    He makes a happy sound.

    He sings and dance

    All year round,

    In his heavenly world

    The joyful pond.

    Crickets are cheering

    As he bounces up and down,

    Fire flies shining their lights

    As they follow him around.

    He echoes in the air

    To let himself known,

    Singing his song

    From midnight till dawn.

    Then came one night,

    There is silence in the pond;

    No flickering lights,

    No applauding sound.

    Water was polluted,

    Cluttered with wastes, bottles and cans;

    Lilies barely hanging

    On the surface of the pond.

    There at the edge of the drying pond,

    The once happy frog,

    Lying motionless with his back on the ground.
