    Poem Commentary

    Author Notes:

Right and wrong are best friends. And I my friend walk in between both of them.

    The Garden of Eden

Remember the story of Adam and Eve
Born into the Garden of Eden
    They had everything.

    Then the Devil
    Disguised as Desire so Sweet
    Tempted Eve.

    And here we be.

    Lowly creatures
    Born in sin
Destined for Hell if we don't repent.

    The 'Garden of Eden'
    Is a state of mind.
    I can live in Heaven
Or I can live in Hell.

The choice has always been mine.

    Then in steps Desire.
    I want what I shouldn't have.
    Will I be selfish?
    Take what I need?

    Or will I step aside?
Skip this heartache waiting for me.

    Ennie -- Mennie -- Minnie -- Moe.
    This time I don't know.

    I am consumed with Desire.
    My loins on fire.
    I am Hungry.
    Hungry with Desire.

    The Apple!
    The apple is right there.

    Just this one time.
    Just one bite.
    Just tonight.

I am so tired of this fight.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
