    The Lord an I

Last night i fell asleep.I died before i woke. The Lord took my soul.As he took it he spoke. Its time to leave this dear old earth. Its time to go right now. There is nothing left for you anyway. It wouldn't matter anyhow. As we got to the pearly gates. At heavens door. I ask my dear Lord just once more. Please let me have one more day of life just to get prepared.I'd like to tell my dear wife. So she won't be scared. He said i can't do things that way.It could not be arranged. He showed me the golden book of heaven. The big book could never be changed. So it looks like i'm here to stay for eternity. One day my darling. Your going to be here with me.But until that day comes.I'll stand here alone.I'll never have to leave again. This is my eternal HOME.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
