The Real Me

The Real Me

Since I met you- I don't feel as scared as I used to.  There was definitly a true connection between our heart and souls.  You had to see me at my highs and lows.  I haven't been able to show the real me, I don't know who I have been letting you see.  Again I am ready to be me.  I know we have alot to work on-or at least I do- I really want to for there to ever be a me and you.  Please forgive me for talking you into a backward path.  I am now seeing through all the aftermath.  The new beautiful days-now I believe I am heading in all the right ways.

I really appreciated the honesty in this poem. The flow was great and I loved the format.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
