    The settlement (Dave Hollister)

    I remember that sad day
    It’s a day I can’t forget
Oh how that I wish it would go away
Well let me tell you how the story went

I can barely make it to the court stairs, because of the crowd
You can barely hear my voice, because it was just that loud
I look to left and there she was staring right at me
If looks can kill…oh, ya'll would be dressed up in a black suit trying to bury me
Oh when I rush for the door she rush for the door right at the same dog on time
I’m looking at her finger she got the ring that I bought last year around this time

Thinking I can’t win for losing
The system is so full of it
These laws were made for woman
Cause they are the ones who benefit

However thinking to myself I’m gonna get this case on over with
All because this woman is acting selfish and childish
Would you believe I was walking through the door
She had the nerve to walk on the back of my shoes
I swear I think this woman trying to make me act a dog on fool
See but I’m a bigger man than that it takes me more than that to get me upset

    Breath breath
Lucky I remember what my counselor said
Walk ‘til I made it to the courtroom
Sit down on my side of the courtroom
I took a glimpse on her side of the courtroom
She was rolling her eyes on my side of the courtroom
Man I keep on staring up on that clock
Tick tock the clock staring at me.. tick tock
How much longer we got damn
I could have been at home in my kitchen eating cereal
    I’m stuck in this courtroom,
This is something we both could did on the phone

What do you know my lawyer came in the courtroom and sat right next to me
look at him real exitedly Said just the man I want to see, he said what’s up Dave
I said what’s the case? he said she want 50 thousands every month
I whisper in his ear I said what the what
He said man I’m just telling you what’s up
He said wait a minute wait a minute
Maybe we can work things out
I said no no no no she want 50 thousand
Now I’m thinking this is real bogus
I shouldn't have to go through this because I take care of both them kids

Someone started yelling quiet quiet... Order in the courtroom
And I look to the front the judge was entering the courtroom
That’s when every thing begin, seem like it wouldn't ever end
Listen listen up my friend.. this is about to get real interesting
The courtroom is real quiet now
I swear you couldn’t even hear one sound

The judge ask me to stand up now
I immediately started breaking it down
Told ‘em about the cars, told ‘em about the house
I even told ‘em about how she cheated when I was out of town
She stood up and started trying to talk real loud
Judge said quiet sit back down!

Now I’m proceeding with pleading my case
Everybody looking dead in my face
The whole time I’m thinking this is a disgrace
A real family just don’t act this way

I said your honor she can have the crib
But just give me both the kids
I told her this in front of her mother and father on two different instances
Now tell me why Tammy started yelling out that I’m not a good father
And I started yelling back at her that she’s not a good mother
And the judge said I already told you we need some order in this court order!
Before we can move any further just think about your son and daughter

But Tammy wanna get down in this courtroom
My family wanna get down in this courtroom
Oh I’m thinking to my self don’t let nothing get down in this courtroom
Cause there were cops all up in front of me... cops all up in back of me
Man it’s really getting crazy in there that’s what I said suddenly

    Let’s keep it real
    Who pays the bills
    Who cooks the meals
    For two or three years
    Woman start yelling back
    Cussed at me talking smack
Talking about she gonna kick this and that
I said I would love to see that
She said you can't have the kids
I said I’ll take care of my kids
She said I’m gonna see about this
I said yeah we gonna see about this
She said you were never home you’re always traveling on the road
I said you’re always might be home, but you’re always laid up on the phone

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
