    Today

Newness of the dew, I watch it fall off the leaf
As the cool morning fog covers parts of the ground
Love that part of the day when there’s no heat
Some birds chirp as they wake, but mostly no sound

I’d walk across the ground, but why change this scene
Glistening, wet grass seems almost untouched
My mind bound to this view, my morning routine
Where I am catatonic, lost in the moment and nothing is rushed.

Peace, where I enjoy God’s creations and such bliss
While the sun still hasn’t breached through the trees
Brushing away memories of mornings like this
Can I see another day like this Lord? Please!

Even as time slips, and I must try to capture it
Daily agendas begin to enter, still trying to focus
Light brightens, life wrestles, trying to master it
I’ve stayed put meanwhile, just like most of us

I want to move when it is, and only when, it’s time
Longing for the moments when I am just like the dew
So much better are the unexpected treasures that you find
Looking forward for the next one, how bout you?

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
