    Today I die

    Oh! river stand as witness
To this fool with no weakness.
Today , yes today ,the plan I will do
Today , your bed will be for two.

    I tried everything I could
    And did everything I should
    Yet nothing seemed to work
And trouble pierced like a fork.

I know so many people will blame
But where were they when I was lame?
I wonder what Heaven will say
But my mind will not change today.

Many would say "a fool he has been"
To throw away his life just after his teen
Yet they will wrestle for my body with you
A body whose lifelessness will have nothing to do.

Tell them that help should come when I live
And not when I am too dumb to forgive.
I know they will shed crocodile tears
And some roll about like harvested pears
Yet this will in no way give me fear
Today ,I die and so swear.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
