    Poem Commentary

Sorry, I couldn't really think of a better name. Not my best work, I admit, but I thought it was okay-ish.

    Twisted Trust

    How could you do this?
this shallow deed unneeded for your eyes,
    full of never sheathing hatred
    Never wasting time

    Why did you do this?
I trusted you, I poured my heart out
But, do you think that was just a wisp
Of my emotions, for when your comfort I sought?

    I never did expect this.
I thought you were so close,
I thought I was so much better now,
I thought I was doing well.

    Then, I think to myself
    I know why.
    I know how.
It was my fault that you had to.

And, as I try to wrap my mind around that,
The world doesn't seem so light.
I want to ask you'what did I do'?
But it just wouldn't seem right.

So, tell me, how can I mend my deeds?
How can I make it up?
Begging, I am on my knees
How could I have hurt you that much?

    But, how can I change?
    How can I be better?
Thank you for telling me this way,
    It is for the better.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
