Walls of Steel

    Walls of Steel

    Unfulfilled promises line the path

Pain, Anger, and all its wraith

    Charred fires scar One's grasp

Gifts so deep, so rare.. merely tossed and lost..

    Tear stained cheeks

begin to turn a shade of rose

Eyes so giving, filled with such agony, are weeping

    Walls of steel

    He builds around

Surrounding himself, for his own protection

    Gifts of surrender simply tossed

    not another thought given

yet a need so strong to give burns within

    Eyes that once were weeping

Begin to sparkle and fill with life

    Life begins anew.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
