    Whisper the Weapon

    What are they...

They are sharp as the surgeons blade
    The weapons which we choose
    Inspired of sun and shade
We think we can not lose

They bring light from the dark
    or smiles from the broken
they can crush all that is stark
    or tossed as simple tokens

They can hurt and they heal
    sanitize or deeply infect
They can be hard as solid steel
    or soothing tenderly in effect

    Emotions headed north turn south
or send a thought straight to hell
These are the bullets from your mouth
be kind and use them well

    these are our spoken words
    an endless supply abounds
you are the Shepperd of these herds
    used wisely they will astound

Ah, they lift us up or throw us down, the most powerful weapons around.....words. Very nice display. Thanks for sharing.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
