    WHO ARE YOU

    Who are you?
I looked and thought it was me
No response returned from my question
So I asked again and still… it was the air you see.
    How could this be
When I risked all I could give
Love being unfed, unnutured truly disappears
    Who are you?
And why are you swimming around in my head.
I was in my right mind
Only to discover you wasted my time
    Hope became hopelessness
    Joy became pain
    Where are you?
Among the light of the living or in the land of
    The dead.
    Who are you?

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
