Why do we call it love when it hurts so much?

I can remember telling you how much i love you and you telling me the same thing as we both looked into each others eye's on the corner of blinding terrace,  where we had our first kiss. I can remember how the air felt so cool and the moon was just right for the two people who had just found true love. Then oneday out of no where my heart skipped about three beats, and all of that love that I thought was so true went right out of my bedroom window onto the same street corner where you made me feel like the world was made for people that knew what the true meaning of love was all about. I was told by so many people that it is a wonderful feeling to be in love-but if the feeling is so wonderful why Lord am I on bended  knee's one street corner from my bedroom window looking for the pieces of my heart that my true love has torn apart. Love is suppose to make you jump for joy not feel like you are with a little boy who just found himself a new little toy. I to want to know the truth is love full of joy or is it a little boys joy toy.

love is full of both. how can u experience the full impact of love's joy and happiness if u have not experienced the other end of the spectrum (soorow, pain, broken heartedness)? very well done. deep and heart felt.

Where else then would he learn love for he had given what up to then he knew about love, shall his learning then stop because of pain? Or is pain the tenderness of love that rises to stretch to new levels? Who then has lost if the little boy is learning the landscape of love and the girl is learning how to let love stretch to new levels?

Sorry it took me so long to respond but I am ready I have tried to understand your comment but I still can't. I believe that we all should learn about love at home and plus if you say the words I love you and marry someone you should alread know that love should not hurt you it should make you feel good all over, I can see what pain do to so many and I have seen what it has done to me and I don't want to learn the other side of pain by hurting the one I want to grow old with, I can stretch to new levels stronger levels but not by hurting the one I say I love you to just to get there.
