winter

As the snow fell, so too did our spirits.
Locked up inside, with the bitterness.
Our feelings were allowed to incubate,
in the biting cold.
As the day's grew shorter, so too did our patience.
Being set free, a meak hour before the sun fled.
Our rebelious thought were allowed to grow,
in the complete darkness.
As the night's grew longer, so too did our worries.
With more to do, than could possibly be done.
Our stress was allowed to gain strength,
in the absence of light.
As the snow fell, so too did our spirits.
Locked up inside, with the bitterness.
Our feelings were allowed to incubate,
in the biting cold.
.
As the day's grew shorter, so too did our patience.
Being set free, a meak hour before the sun fled.
Our rebelious thought were allowed to grow,
in the complete darkness.
.
As the night's grew longer, so too did our worries.
With more to do, than could possibly be done.
Our stress was allowed to gain strength,
in the absence of light.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
