Without

More alive are the colors of the earth

In the rainbow of the world

Than the sum of our souls

That the depths of our spirits cannot comprehend

What the voice of nature can bare

In the never-ending cycle of civilization unfolds

In the absence of peace is another struggle

Feeling forsaken with no sense of salvation

This is humanity, society in the flesh

The way most of us live, lived and will live

Is but a cry in the woods and something else to mourn

it is a poem that gives God glory and says more about our reason of existence (our being) which is to acknowledge God.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
