    Woman

    Nora
    to Nora with forgetting eyes

    Nightly, beautiful eyes!
Over these words trying to rhyme.
    Restless, trembling,
around you, I chase my soul.

    I am simple, ordinary poet
leading you into the stars and the sky
    into dreams for your heart.
    An ordinary man,
    nothing else, nothing more.
A simple tune in a song.

    Come woman! Dance me!
All the way, dance me to your love!
    Zephyr of sunrise!
Attach her bright smile to my heart.
Roses of earth, spices of time,
    embrace her beauty and fire
singing with the flowers of spring.

Verses, vessels are my only hope.
Engaged on a rhythmic thread of signs,
lurking with the waves of inspiration
    [when you’re not there.]
    Ancient your magnetic presence
    [ancient as a goddess]
zestful over the infinity of your eyes,
    quibbles, puzzling a question,
    unfolding and revealing a mystery.
Entering a curved, dark matter door.
    Zirconium dusts make diamonds bright.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
