    Yearnings

    If I told you of my dreams...
    Would you laugh at the very
    Audacity of longing
    For a star not quite within reach;
    Or with the joy of knowing
    A heart that refuses to be daunted
    By what might not be?

    Would you take my hand and fly
    With me, to faraway horizons?
    Or would you counsel me
    To remain earthbound
    While my heart weeps
    For that which might have been?

    If I told you of my longings;
    Of all the empty
    Yearning places in my heart;
    Would you seek to fill
    Each lonely space,
    To ease the ache of needing
    Or refuse to take a part?

    What if I asked you just to stay,
    And take a chance
    That each tomorrow could be
    A bright and shining new day,
    Would you dare to live that dream,
    Or simply turn and walk away?

    This is a wonderful poem filled with the yearnings of others, as well. Why just one? Have you gone away? I look forward to more of your works. Dig 'em up. Only you know where you have them hidden. Please don't be shy! ~ Molly ~

    Enjoyable read with a talent for writing as I hope you continue to write more. Great flowing style crafted with care as you have this yearning to share with us your dream... beautiful journey as I read your work I am reminded to dare to dream and allow others to do the same.

    Beautiful! I particularly like the first and last stanza's. You write very well and I also would love to see some more.
