Poem Commentary

Oh man, This one brings back memories, Hope you enjoyed this one! thanks for reading

You were once my love...

You were once my love, so true and dear to me
You were once my love, but the air was too thick to see
You were once my love, I was a fool to neglect
You were once my love, and I will never forget
You were once my love, you were my first in fact
You were once my love, and you wanted attention but I never gave u that
You were once my love, but I was arrogant and young
You were once my love, instead of showing it all I did was shun
You were once my love, and I regret the decisions I made
You were once my love, and if I could go back u know I would change
But now I sit here regretting my words
I'm crying out to you but my cries are unheard
And now that you gone I have realized what I've done
But now all I can say, is You Were Once My Love

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
