A Child's Love by Winter Giovanni

Mommy don't be sad, because I love you royally.
You are beautiful Mommy, even though you think you are ugly.
You don't need a man, you just need a friend.
I know you feel lonely, wanting this feeling to just end.
I love you, don't you know?
Even though sometimes it might not show.

Raise up that self esteem because if you don't,
    you'll just be mean.
You are strong mommy and you need to know that.
If you don't know that then someone's gonna use you,
play on your weakness and probably abuse you.

Stand up my beautiful and strong mommy,
you got me and no... you are not weak!
I know you feel hurt, sometimes feeling like dirt.
Just learn how to smile, wider than the Nile,
you'll see the light, then suddenly you'll feel right.

Rise up my beautiful queen. Just remember, you are not mean.
Do what you do and stay strong, because after all your love is tall.

This is beautiful in a painful way.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
