A Love Letter by Winter Giovanni

    Dear Future Husband,
As I sit here I write you this future love letter,
I hope that one day to meet you in good weather.
I don’t see you now because God’s preparing me for you,
That’s why "who you are?" I have no single clue.
Those who read this might think that I’m clueless,
But I tell all of you, what would you do?
I’m tired of the games, I don’t even play monopoly.
I promise you my future husband, I will love you unconditionally.
Your mind, your body, and your soul, I will massage it gracefully.
Let me talk into your ear, hoping to one day see you so clear.
Relax my friend; I assure you I will be here ‘til the end.
Hoping when I meet you, my heart will finally mend.
I know you’re tired of going through the fire,
I promise you my friend; I will be here ‘til the end.
Where are you at? I’m growing tired of all this crap!
I promise you my friend; this “looking” game will finally be a wrap!
Let’s just dance together, even in bad weather.
Let’s finally sing along, to that happy beat and song.
Let’s cry to one another, knowing that we finally found our lover.
Dear future husband, I hope you like this love letter.
It’s coming from my heart, even in this bad weather.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
