    A Cry For Help

She lay there in the darkness,
    Waiting to hear the click
Of the turning of the door knob.
She knew that it would come,
    She wasn't sure just when.
    Let it be over soon.

    Night after night,
    Year after year.
    Her body and mind,
    Abused and confused.

She feels powerless to say NO
Yet she knows that this is wrong
She made a promise not to tell
Not to say a word to anyone
    She throws her mother glances
    Hoping she would understand.

    Hope upon hope
    Gone with the night.
    Her body and mind
    Don't care anymore.

I relate to this poem. Love the innocence of the lily. A lily so pure, untouched. Lillies are my favorite flower, I never knew why until now. I have a daughter called Lily, no-one will ever touch her. I wasnt protected but she will be. x

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
