    A Hearts Battle

I want to love and I want to care

I want to show you that I can be there

I want to feel romance with my guard down

I want to have you be the one around

I want to give my heart and know its wont be broke

I want to say I love you without feeling Ima choke

But my heart has been damaged and tore apart

and not just recently, but from the start

Ive been abused by men both verbally and by hand

Now I feel I cant even be close to a man

My heart is so black, as black as the night

that when I want to care it puts up a fight

I now trust no man or the words that they say

cause they all said the same on one very day

With tears in their eyes they promised to me

to never cheat or lie and that I would see

I only saw lies and deception in every one

So I throw my hands up and I swear I am done

I just want my heart whole and able to care again

just hoping this is a battle Im able to win

Poignant Write...this is how you turn your insides out (smiling)...don't give up on love, continue to write and share and soon you will be rewarded....ONE

    all those scars...painful.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
