A Mother

A Mother

A child I was,
Uncaring, resentful....
Took for granted most of what She said.
Not realizing, I am loved.

Until now I am,
caring, protective, disciplined.
Constantly reminding things.
Loving to the fullest; all, are God's gift.

One will not realize Her importance
Until they become one.
How much She loved,
unselfishly and sometimes unkind.

But no one could not take for granted
the affection we received
We are raised as a person
With kindness, with good deeds.

I know that I can never be,
More than what She is to me.
I just pray that I will be
The best mom that I can be.

I will love my kids unselfishly.
Guide them every step of the way.
I will be with them every day,
Whether it's a shiny or rainy day.

I will pick them up when they fall
Guide them to an open door.
I can't promise a perfect world
Only sturdy hands for them to hold.

They may resent me at times, I know
But they will realize when they grow
I only wanted what I know is best.
A mother's instinct, no more no less.

I pray to God that I can be,
Able to love and raise all thee.
God-Fearing and responsible,
Can surpass life's stumbles.

Indeed, a Mother I am.
Grown-up and understands,
How my Mother have raised me
And appreciates everything she did for me.

Thanks Mom!
