A Serious Problem

A Serious Problem

As his left hand went up,
Simultaneously so did mine.
As his right hand went down,
My right just fell in line.
As he alternated both hands rhythmically,
I began to dance.
As he moved both hands slowly up and down,
I walked lazily as if entranced.
As he jerked his hands upward,
I suddenly kissed the sky.
As he refrained from all movement,
I froze-- didn't move, didn't try.

In this moment of lifelessness
I became distraught thinking on things.
Then I realized there was a serious problem,
People don't have strings?

You really know how to how to put some bite in your observations, and that's a good thing. Forgive me if I'm being presumptuous but, to me, "A Serious Problem" reads like a message you've written to yourself. In any case, it's a memo all who read it would do well to heed. This is a real 10!

People don't have strings; but they're always being pulled. People don't have buttons; but they're always being pushed? So who is there to blame, once "A Serious Problem" occurs? No one's ever on our first. It's always our last nerves.

I truly appreciate all of your comments and support. It means alot to me!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
