    Hide No Seek

I'm letting it get to me

    To exist outside of labels

    Is not the American way

    So I attach to

    the stigma

    the judgment

    the frivolous

    the status

    the quo

    the envy

    the ego

    the classes

    the people

    the religion

    the forbidden

    the taboo

    the culture

    the lies

    the hypocrisy

    the empty sighs of relief

    'Cause how in the world

Could I just let you be you

And you just let me be me?

Naw, that would be way too much like love

    Way too much like free...

So I'll just hide from you

And you just hide from me

Beautiful build; life's building blocks stacked on top of each other, almost certain that they will all fall down because the foundation is not built on solid ground - in that society has created a crumbling cement that may not hold together in stormy whether. . . 'Way too much like free' sometimes free of structure when things, our reality is left hidden away like sin - when it needs to blossom like love. Great metaphoric structure. Write on!

Thank you for the thoughtful comments. Hiding is so counterproductive to living!

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
