    A Smile

    And you were there!
    With longish hair.
As tall as I could see,
And a soft smile if need be.
You were as white as snow,
    Who would know?
    Your upper hair is black
And that you were a smarty jack!
But you threw me a smile,
    Hope you'll stay a while.
    Come share your heart,
    My handsome Mr. Hart.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
