A Soldier's Heart

A Soldier's Heart

At the end of a gun barrel

Buried in the burning white sand

Embedded in the bleeding flesh wounds

Left alone in distant lands

Imprinted on the infantry badges

Branded on the Airborne Ranger patch

Peeking through infrared sights

Hiding under every bunker hatch

Soaring about the sky with guided missiles

Lodged into detonated Claymore mines

Flying on the wings of stealth bombers

Leaving trails across enemy lines

Etched on a sniper's weapon

Bound around war prisoners hands

Curled up under the soldier's tent

Wrapped around flagpole stands

Engulfed in the flames of tanker battles

Soaked into the sweat of the brave

Dripping from the faces of their families tears

Amongst the soul laid to rest in the graves

Here is where you will find the heart of a soldier

At the end of every gun...lies possible the buried one bleeding left for dead...and done....left alone unburied some. Etched in time the deadly soldier branded by Gipettos many... many ways to wage deaths sweeps...much the sorrow the family reeps Soaring heavens pillowed waves...terrors invent... made to action...even on the ground safe havens never met with satisfaction. Broken, mended encounters cut and mame the clay of mortals keen...fetile positioned... alone, need comfort.....need comfort...need words of love from home. No flame can burn out image -beauty- for sacred is the thoughts in hearts...Even if the lifeless beauty dragged behind the enemy carts... Grave cannot hold any of the Eagles that own part of the Heavens...for there is end to endless torment God completes with rest in seven.

Very original as is my piece. Straight from the dome...

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
