A Thousand Years

Poem Commentary

Longest poem I wrote, a little more on the happy side this time

A Thousand Years

i remember the first time i laid eyes on you
wow, nothing could compare to
immediately a flower bloomed and grew
destiny started to sew
our everlasting future,
for the next thousand years
for the next thousand years
i will have nothing to fear
not shedding a single tear
you made everything crystal clear
you are the girl i want to forever be near
for the next thousand years and more
I will love you more and more
and it will forever soar
like some secret lore
love was unlocked, and for a thousand more i will love you
i will adore,
i will care,
i will share,
i will never tear away,
i will forever stay,
my emotions will never be at bay,
girl you make me cray,
and there are only three words i can say,
i love you, every day
till the ends of time
it will be an everlasting chime
sounding beautiful till the ends of time
beyond that, and you commited such crime
stealing my heart without ease,
you made it seem like a breeze.
you did it without ease.
and at that moment all time would freeze
and in that moment i would seize,
the eternal happiness within me.
I never felt this before,
but it was something i knew i could come to adore,
emotions crashing like waves on the shore,
but unfourtanately my heart tore
i had to let you go for at the time u did not love me yet
and i would have ever bet
you would have ever felt for me, such a threat-
i felt, yet...
after i feared to love you,
you began to love me.
and it wasnt until in my late teen years,
that i found the only shedding of tears,
would now be happy, expecting the many years,
our thousand years.
I now listen to this song,
a thousand years,
and i am shedding tears,
yet I am not sad, no fear
i miss you,
i am excited,
and i want you for the next thiusand years and i will love you for those thiusand years and i will love you for a thousand more.
you are mending a broken heart,
and ik you will never tear it apart,
you are the only part that matters in my heart,
nothing could kill this sweet, no tart.
you have made my life a beautiful work of art.
And again I will say that i will love you for a thousand years,
and i will love you for a thousand more.
and within these thousand years,
there are no longer fears,
my love of my life is here....
always and forever

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
