“Fall”

The time where natures wilting

Preparing for its sleep

It gathers food to store away

To have when winter meets

When temperatures are dropping

The timing can’t be wrong

Tis time for us to harvest

What’s grown all summer long

A time when children frolic

And play within the leaves

Enjoying all the wonders

This season has to bring

The time in which we’re thankful

For all we have received

The time where families celebrate

Together laugh and feed

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
