“Summer”

The time of year for swimming

For playing in the sun

For picnics, parks, and barbeques

A time for having fun

A time to take the water rides

Theme parks are on the list

There so much fun this time of year

Almost as if it’s bliss

There’s fishing and canoeing

Kayaking all the same

A water road that nature paved

That only she may claim

Though hot we do sustain it

So happy that it’s here

A time of year where all is live

The nights so cool and clear

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
